Signing of five aid projects between the Ministry and DRC

Wafiullah Kakar, Deputy Minister for Refugee Affairs, signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) on 22 May 2021.

These projects will be implemented in 16 provinces by the DRC. Sustainable reintegration, alternative resettlement for vulnerable returnees, irregular migration, assistance to IDPs, aid to the transition from emergency to development phase, demining, support to undocumented repatriates, emergency response mechanism, capacity building to civil society to help Afghans affected by displacement are the topics of the singed projects.

According to the MoUs, the DRC is obliged to implement the projects in close coordination and cooperation with the Ministry; the projects shall be monitored and evaluated jointly.

The DRC representatives assured that it would regularly provide ongoing progress to the Ministry.
