Deputy Minister Wafiullah Kakar stressed the strategic importance of repatriation with sustainable reintegration of returnees and internally displaced persons in Afghanistan and added: "It is good that national and international institutions are participating in this meeting and discussing on the achievements and how to further improve the quality of project work."
Mr. Kakar, while enumerating some of the challenges and necessary ways to solve them, said: “For better coordination with the relevant institutions and more useful services at the Kabul Airport to returnees from Turkey and Europe, a standard operation procedure (SOP) is needed which shall determine the duties of the relevant institutions in order to enhance the coordination level.”
The head of the Development Division of the EU Delegation in Kabul and the country director of the IOM also stressed the need to better the coordination with the government of Afghanistan and the commitment to successfully implement the RADA project.
The Steering Committee of RADA meets annually under the leadership of the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations, the European Union, and the IOM, during which important and strategic issues on the reintegration projects and development assistance to returnees internally displaced persons need to be discussed.
