Deputy Minister Kakar meets Acting Country Director Norwegian Refugee Council

Mr. Wafiullah Kakar, Deputy Minister for Refugees Affairs, met with Ms. Bouthaina Toujani, the acting country director of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), on 15.04.2021.

After delivering appreciation for the work of the NRC in the past, Deputy Minister Kakar expressed his serious concerns about the current project “Integration of Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons in Afghanistan”. He stressed the obligation of the NRC to regularly report on the progress and challenges of the project to the MoRR.

Ms. Bouthaina Toujani promised to frequently account to the Ministry and do everything conceivable to improve the cooperation. Ms. Toujani informed Deputy Minister Kakar that the NRC faces challenges in identifying suitable land for establishing business hubs in Herat and Mazar. Deputy Minister Kakar said that the MoRR would assist the NRC in allocation and obtaining proper property.
