Continuation of government talks with Turkish officials regarding the memorandum of understanding
During his visit to Turkey and talks with Turkish officials on the need to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, Wafiullah Kakar, Deputy Minister for Refugee Affairs, met with Deputy Foreign Minister Yavuz Selim Kran and exchanged views on 04 June 2021.
Valuing the long-standing and friendly relations, the two sides discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, the Afghan migrants in Turkey, and the need for a cooperation framework in the field of migration.
Referring to the ongoing movement of Afghans to Turkey and a large number of Afghan migrants in the country, Deputy Minister Kakar called on the Turkish Foreign Ministry to facilitate a bilateral agreement.
Meanwhile, the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister stated that the Turkish government continues its cooperation with Afghanistan and is ready for any kind of assistance, especially in combating human trafficking and regulating regular movements.
A memorandum of understanding on joint migration management is to be signed between shortly.
