Deputy Minister for Refugees meets with IDPs in Helmand province

Wafiullah Kakar, the Deputy Minister for Refugees, in his travel to Helmand led a delegation to assess the recent IDPs situation. This mission aimed to monitor the distribution of aid by national and international organizations, visit the temporary IDPs settlement, and learn about the short and mid-term needs of the IDPs.

The Deputy Minister also talked with the governor of Helmand and tribal elders about the challenges of the recent displacement and called for urgent, comprehensive and coordinated cooperation.

In the end, Mr. Kakar advised the DoRR in Helmand, and the national and international organizations, including UNHCR, WFP, HRNA, IRC, PTA, HAPA, DAEAAP, and APA, to expedite the process of registration and assistance to the displaced people. The mentioned institutions assured their full cooperation.
